Trails and Gardens

Hinton Rural Life Center is enhancing and developing trails throughout our campus, with each leading to a garden designed for renewal and reflection. Knowing that time spent in nature is good for the mind, body, and soul, we want to offer more opportunities for Hinton guests and visitors to experience that throughout our 33 acres of campus. We are grateful for the guidance provided us by author, speaker, and passionate gardener Terry Hershey.

Currently, our Ervin Sanctuary Gardens and Trails include an outdoor labyrinth, Memory Garden, The Swing Garden, and Hope Terrace Garden. At the end of Retreat Spur, just past the Ingram Hermitage cabin, you’ll find the trail head that leads to the Vista Trail, Creekside Trail, and the Vista Loop. Follow the Vista Trail up the mountainside to our Vista Garden and worship area.
