community
Events are as follows:

Monday 3/6: PLARN 6:30 – 8 PM

Come make crocheted plastic yarn from old grocery bags. These are easy to make and are a great resource for those without a home.
Join us as you can, at Hinton Center.

Tuesday 3/7: POVERTY SIMULATION 3 OR 6 PM (you choose which works for you!)

A week is 15 minutes. A month is an hour. Can you navigate through this poverty simulation with ease? Volunteer to play as a community member or go through the simulation as an individual struggling to get by.
To volunteer or to register as a participant, email or call Dawn at dawn@hintoncenter.org or (828) 389-8336: at Hinton Center.

Simulation Registration

Wednesday 3/8: POVERTY, INC. VIEWING AND DISCUSSION 6 – 8:30 PM (Dinner before at 5 PM)

Join us as we watch the movie Poverty, Inc. and discuss the central issues in the movie as they relate to life in our own community.
Join us as you can at Hayesville First UMC. Dinner is free, but donations are appreciated.

Thursday 3/9: CUTTHROAT PANTRY 6:30 – 9 PM

Food Network’s “Cutthroat Kitchen” comes to Hayesville in the form of our own “Cutthroat Pantry”. Community hot-shots must make a full meal in four rounds of 30 minutes each. The twist? They only get items available at your local food pantry. Come cheer on your favorite chef.
Join us as you can, at Hinton Center.
