Hermitage House

A quiet place apart for prayer, meditation and solitude, Hermitage House provides a space where you can hear yourself think, or perhaps hear God speak to your life. One room; with sink, refrigerator, stove and a bathroom with a shower.

Couples Cabin

Looking for that perfect little hide-away, that place to be alone together? Hinton's couple cabin has a lovely porch, double bed, and bathroom with shower. Away from everything else at Hinton, but convenient to area attractions.

Joe Ervin Retreat House

The Joe Ervin Retreat House has 9 bedrooms (each with own bathroom), 2 apartments (each with 1 bedroom/1 bathroom, kitchen and sitting area), full kitchen with dining area, and meeting space.

This retreat house was completed in 2003 and named in honor of Joe Ervin, a volunteer who has helped to build facilities at Hinton for over 20 years.

Nadine P. Johnson Retreat House

The Nadine P. Johnson Retreat House was completed in October 2005. This retreat house has 15 bedrooms each with its own bathroom, full kitchen facilities, dining area, and meeting space.

It is named in memory of Nadine P. Johnson who was a faithful layperson in the United Methodist Church and a long time supporter of Hinton Rural Life Center.

Hinton Lodge

Seventeen rooms with individual baths, air-conditioned, large meeting room, dining hall and private dining room. Space for groups of up to 68 persons.

Patterson Cottage

Five bedrooms, each with private bath, meeting room and kitchen (groups may choose to prepare own meals). Accommodates up to 16 persons.

Sells Cottage

Five bedrooms, each with private bath, meeting room and kitchen (groups may choose to prepare own meals). Accommodates up to 16 persons.

Lake House

5 bedrooms, 3 bath, air conditioned, with kitchen and screen porch. Houses 12. Beautiful lake view.

4 bedrooms, 2 bath, with porch. Houses 8. Beautiful lake view.

Dysart Chapel

The Dysart Chapel, with large windows and a wonderful view of the mountains, is available to groups who come to Hinton. The Chapel comfortably seats 100 people.

Outdoor Chapel

The outdoor worship area at Hinton is accessible by a walking trail that goes up a mountain ridge. The outdoor chapel has wooden seating, an altar area, and glorious views.

Food Service

Meal service is available for groups with 15 or more persons. We serve buffet style, salad bar at lunch and dinners and use organic vegetables from Hinton's own garden when available. Special menus upon request.

Meeting Room & Young Commons Building

Various gathering spaces are available accommodating groups up to 150 people. Meeting space is provided at no extra charge for groups staying overnight or having a meal.


Special Deals

If your church group has never visited Hinton before, it is elligible for 10% off on all accommodations. Please note that this discount applies only to retreat groups, and is not applicable to summer mission volunteer groups.
